Political Ad of the Day: Rick Perry knows there’s something wrong in this country “when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.”

I know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can’t get married, but small-minded, intolerant, homophobic fear-mongers like Rick Perry can be considered viable presidential candidates.

Besides the abhorrent notion under girding the whole platform being that they view homosexuals as immoral, subhuman (in regards to not deserving equal rights), and just plan’ole wrong, doesn’t anyone in the conservative, right-wing, republican party see the irony in saving religion from the Christian Obama, when they believe in a more strict adherence to the Constitution and forefathers? Same forefathers who believed in separation of church and state? 

Anywho—I’m pretty sure everything we do from Thanksgiving to Christmas in our second-grade classrooms is related somehow to snow, Santa, Christmas, and family traditions. Shove that down your merry chimney Perry!
