Yes!
I just finished the first book I read that wasn’t required of me since like 2006.
The Hunger Games
I got back from my cruise yesterday. Many miles and nautical miles traveled. A very special New Years cruise, which I will divulge some details when I feel like sitting in front of a computer.
Until then, I’m listening to Pygmy Lush - Mount Hope and reading Hunger Games on my iphone.

I love having more time to just listen to records and read stuff on the internet.
I have a particularly tough time with wanting to hang out with friends who are in town from out of state. I try to cram it in. But they got families and people to see. Who says they need or want to see me. For some reason, it’s never enough to just make sure I’m having a good time and living well.
It’ll be worse next Christmas, when it’s me who is coming home from out of...
best of 2011
This year, I really did not put any effort into checking out new music. Basically what people played around me, or a continuanace of things I have been listening to for some time. These are the records I spent the most time with that actually came out in 2011.
10. glassjaw - coloring book ep & our colour green
09. algernon cadwallader - parrot files
08. explosions in the sky - take care,...
Every year it gets tougher to pick out gifts for my parents and sister. What do they need? They have no hobbies. My dad wants more underwear and socks. Every year most people see their mom’s get stressed out. Shopping is a big part. Without getting political, if shopping wasn’t a part of Christmas, I know my girlfriend and my mom would have been a lot more jolly!
Having said that,...
bon iver
very importantly, i forgot bon iver earlier.
I just want to drive for hours through the southern tier listening to bon iver.
which also makes me want to return to the forrests of tennessee/north carolina Vicky and I drove through this summer.
go buy the genny heritage pack for the fourth time, already.
It seems like everyday I am reminded why I have the best job in the world. It can really suck and you can feel really stressed at times. But everyday I get to work with the most incredible kids. Better, the people I work with make all the tough moments laughable and manageable.
Imagine if everyone could have a job they don’t hate, but actually really, really love.
All I do is laugh,...

Driving from Albany to Mount Morris down 88 and 17 today was so surreal. So many small hamlets and villages with steepled churches and houses on hillsides. Many hills and small mountainous areas. No traffic and sun the whole time. Sometimes you forget how beautiful it is out here

This is not a direct response to OWS. With so much evidence of police brutality and abuse of power on the internet, how come more isn’t being done at a state and national level to change this? It seems like literally every week and every other week an example of police brutality makes the news. We can only assume exponentially how much more there is undocumented. Yet, it only seems to be...
Ugh sooo good.
Every year it's Wednesday
Your calendar is wrong! My birthday is the 27th and it’s always on a Wednesday. Every year it is!

Thanks for being honest
Funny thing a kid did today.
It’s ritual for kids to bring in treats for their birthday. 7 out of 10 times it’s cookie cake. Any type of cake or cupcake and it seems that there became this tradition of wandering around the building finding teachers to give a piece of cake. We checked in on him as he passed the class and he had two pieces left to give away. When he returned another...
